Support for teens
Sometimes it's hard to know how best to help.
Watching your teenager struggle can leave you feeling unsure of what's going on and how best to connect with them. You might have tried talking, offering advice or giving them space, but nothing seems to be helping. Perhaps they've become quieter, more withdrawn, overwhelmed or frustrated, or maybe you just have a feeling that something isn't quite right.
Whether therapy is completely new to your teen or they've tried it before and it didn't quite click, finding someone they feel comfortable with can make all the difference.
My approach is relaxed, collaborative and led by your teen. There's no pressure to open up before they're ready, or to know what to say or how to say it. My role is to meet them where they are, move at their pace and find ways of working together that feel comfortable for them.
Privacy is an important part of building trust, particularly with teenagers. I'll always be open and clear with both you and your teen about confidentiality, what stays between us and when parents or carers may need to be involved, particularly if there are concerns about safety.
You can read more about how I work with teenagers in my FAQs.
I’m not here to change who your teen is.
I'm here to understand the world from their perspective, help them make sense of their experiences and support them in finding their own way forward, at their own pace.
