Meeting children in their world to explore …
The things your child might not yet have the words to explain.
Perhaps something is showing up through their behaviour or emotions and you are struggling to understand where it is coming from, how best to help, or you need some support while waiting for NHS services.
I meet children in their world and at their pace, using an attachment focused, relational and non directive approach.
We might talk, play, use art, sand tray, movement or visual resources to explore their inner world and make sense of what they are experiencing.
Parents and carers are involved as much as appropriate, helping you understand your child’s inner world and develop supportive strategies, while your child’s individual therapeutic relationship remains at the heart of the work.
Topics I often explore in therapy with children:
Attachment & early relationships
Big feelings, with little containment
Behaviours & boundaries
Changes & transitions
Friendships & bullying
Grief, loss & family changes
Neurodiversity
School difficulties and EBSA (emotionally based school avoidance)
Self-esteem & confidence
Trauma & difficult experiences
(this is not an exhaustive list)
